AEON LABS Z STICK 2 CONTROLLER FULL
I backup HA daily to Google Drive using GitHub - sabeechen/hassio-google-drive-backup: Automatically create and sync Home Assistant backups into Google Drive, and do a monthly full snapshot of the HA VM backed up to AWS. Dunno if that's just something nice to have or a real life saver. There are some older topics here on backups, but as a new Z-Stick user there are some changes and I have some follow-on questions. I've seen discussions on backup/restore being something to consider.
AEON LABS Z STICK 2 CONTROLLER PLUS
It seems like the go-to controller, but I feel like I should get something that's certified for Z-wave Plus since I'm just now getting started. I have a Rasp Pi that I'll be plugging my z-wave controller into (openHAB or Home Assistant, haven't decided on that either), but I'm still wondering if I should go for something besides the Aeon Labs Z-Stick. I'm still waffling on whether to go with SmartThings or Wink. They're my first home automation purchases, so I'm extremely new but have been trying to do research. I have a z-wave garage door sensor arriving today, and a Google Home arriving on Monday. Thanks for the help, everyone! Hopefully other new Google Home owners see this post and have a bit more info to chew on before diving into home automation. A lot of reviews mention Z-Wave Plus so I should be good for when I get any Plus-capable stuff. From what I read on the official website, they don't mention "Z-Wave Plus" anywhere specifically but all signs point to it using Z-Wave Plus. Join the Home Automation Discord by Clicking Here!
