Students may drop to three A2 subjects plus their first language in Year 13 if approved by the College. International students take between three and five A Levels (depending on aptitude and ability) plus their first language. We advise students to aim for no lower than a Grade B at GCSE in the subjects which they would like to follow at A level. They may then choose four additional GCSE subjects from the following Option Blocks, choosing one subject from each block. International students are placed according to their chronological age in the correct National Curriculum Year for their age. When available, international students will sit a GCSE in their first language (for example: Chinese, Thai, Russian, Japanese). All international students study English (or ESL), Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The GCSE syllabus begins in Year 10 (ages 14-15 years).
